Came in tonight to Big Ed's for Dinner with a friend. Been here many times before and the place is like an old glove. It fits well. Our server was very nice and the food was delicious. My buddy had the Brisket Sandwich and I had the 12 broiled Shrimp. . Big Ed's has never disappointed and I highly recommend this place!

Food is always so addictive that bbq sauce the Original was soooo great definitely going back again wasn't really busy so kinda ordered the all u can eat ribs obviously you honestly in my opinion can't go wrong with Og Sauce and the brisket is so sweet and melts in your mouth love every bite the server was honestly great felt like family like a long lost cousin or something nice guy the garlic rolls were filling but great I remember the salads were awesome not much else great sports bar this was right after Super Bowl so nothing was going on made a tower with the rib bones for the price it's worth it but I'd say $$$ out of 5 money signs you'll be like 0_O then everytime at the end you'll say Yup...definitely......worth it slowed speech from eating everything lol

A staple and must-go place in the Monmouth/middlesex area. The ribs cannot be beaten and the atmosphere feels like you're home. Service is outstanding because gratuity is built into your bill, which more places should do.

Went today for early dinner with buddy. Havent been here in almost 4 years. Some changes have come over the years. Salad no longer included and is a side but I often didn't eat it anyway. The garlic rolls are now a garlic bread but still amazing. I could sit here and just eat these because they are so damn good and buttery. Ordered the rib trio which is baby back, spare rib and St. Louis style. Ordered a baked potato and Mac and cheese side. The Mac and cheese was really good. Creamy and had that great cheese flavor. The potato was a nice size and cooked perfect. The first dish of robs is always their A ribs. I wasn't a fan of the St. Louis rib. Too fatty for me. The spare rib wasn't bad. The baby backs are my favorite. Had their house bbq which is very sweet and is going to leave your hands a sticky mess. Next round went with the dry rub, wasn't a fan, really didn't get a great combination of flavors. Then went back to original and it was the smallest ribs I've seen but good. I was gonna stop after that but being so small went 1 more round but the last ones whole a larger order was just overcooked and tough. FYI the first round you get a nice amount of ribs but the subs rounds you are getting much smaller portion sizes. Service was great. If it were closer to summer I would have ordered some bbq sauce to use on home cooked ribs.

Big Ed's is great, have been twice now. Portion sizes are huge so don't let the cost scare you. Garlic bread is a cult classic here Sides: tried the fries (super crispy and great), baked beans (sweet and smoky), Mac and Cheese (someone here on Yelp said it was dry but it was NOT, it was delicious). Cole slaw is perfection. Pulled pork was the table's fav of what we ordered. Blackened chicken was also great flavor, with some kick. We will try the ribs next time. Plenty of dessert options if you somehow still have room in your belly. Waiter was great, vibe of restaurant is a bit cheesy but that's why we love it.

I've been coming here for over 20 years and it never disappoints. The ribs are incredible, easily the best I've had in New Jersey and the fact that they're all you can eat is just icing on the cake. They have three different kinds, and a few different sauces/rubs, so it's definitely worth it to come a few times to try each of them. If you aren't sure what to get, the typical baby backs with barbecue sauce are a classic that you can never go wrong with - I personally am a big fan of the St. Louis as well though, and the dry rub is impeccable (with or without sauce added). This is a family restaurant with friendly servers and bartenders, many related to the owners and many who have worked there for years which helps to give it a cozy vibe. Lots of great beers on tap and plenty of TVs too, so this is also a good spot to come on a football Sunday or to watch a baseball game or whatever. Looking forward to going again soon with some of my in laws who love BBQ but have never been here before since I know they'll love it too.

The first time I ate here I was not extremely impresses by the prices, portion sizes, and sides. However, since I realized how much more reasonable the lunch specials are, Big Ed's has actually become a staple for me. The bbq chicken is delicious and smokey and the ribs are super tender. Definitely order the lunch specials!

Have been coming to big Ed's BBQ since 2008, but it's been awhile since my last visit so this was a nice lunch to look forward to. Back in the day, the all you can eat ribs special was a bargain for less than $15. For lunch on a Sunday, you're looking at $21.99 starting but it's a lootttt of food if you can pack down the ribs. The ribs are obviously the star of the show, but you can add onto your meal for a few bucks, like the scampi catfish which was +$5. Meal comes with two sides so I got the fries and coleslaw. Overall, everything is great, the service was phenomenal as our waitress didn't miss a beat. We even got to try a sauce they were testing out which had a tangy like Asian style flavor. Really good all around so I can't wait to be back! Btw, you can mix up the rib style and flavor and I really enjoyed the baby back original BBQ and the St Louis dry rub. Yum.
